Testimonials:
“To call the yoga teacher training at Lucent “life-changing” feels like it doesn’t do this training justice. This training has been soul-nourishing and reinvigorating in a way that I didn’t even know I needed. I came to this training in order to develop a toolkit that will allow me to teach yoga, and I certainly came out of the training feeling ready to teach and feeling solid in my teaching abilities as well as solid in my knowledge of the yoga poses, alignments, and adjustments…but this is the least of what I got out of the training. This training has helped me to actually become a more compassionate, present, and loving person and has also deepened my practice so much more than I could have imagined was possible. Lauren has the incredible ability to create an environment of warmth, safety, love, and support in a way that facilitated spiritual and physical growth for all of the people in the training. The coursework and readings are so thoughtfully planned, it is just structured enough so that we are continually building on top of the things that we have learned previously and moving in a positive direction but still flexible and comfortable enough for us to have the room to go deeper into specific topics or areas of study that the group was particularly keen to explore further. Although I am so happy to have completed the training, I am also sad that it’s over because it was such an incredible experience. I would recommend this training to anyone who is looking to deepen their practice, who is interested in teaching yoga, or even just feeling “stuck” in their life and looking for deeper connection and spiritual understanding.” -Mina, Class of 2024
“With Lauren's guidance you'll walk away from this training feeling inspired and ready to start your teaching journey. Over the course of these months, you'll learn about philosophy, anatomy, adjustments, sequencing — all of which are incredibly valuable — but more importantly, you'll dive into how you can lead a more yogic life and find your unique voice as a teacher. I'm so grateful for this experience and would highly recommend it!” -Jenny, Class of 2024
“The YTT program at Lucent Yoga changed my life in so many ways! Going into the training, my main intention was to deepen my yoga practice and try something new and I wasn't totally sure that I'd become a teacher, but soon after starting the program, that shifted for me and I found myself feeling so excited and inspired to become a yoga teacher. The training was an incredible mix of learning about the physical practice, the history and roots of yoga, and so much more, and I appreciated how each of the teachers brought in offered us a different perspective to make us more well-rounded individuals & teachers. I found so many benefits in my personal life from this YTT outside of the yoga practice, from the way I live my life day-to-day, to my relationships, and I truly cannot recommend the YTT program here enough. It was such a wonderful, enriching experience overall, and if you're even considering enrolling slightly, I think you should 100% go for it.” - Lily, Class of 2022
“I had some experience doing yoga and studying eastern philosophy before this training. I took this YTT excited to better understand the alignment of the postures and the history/philosophy of yoga. I received that understanding tenfold and so much more. This experience was immense for me - in a great way. I miss it dearly. It was the kind of life changing experience I was hoping for, but wasn’t sure when it would come or how it would look. That life changing experience came from the spirit of yoga, which is so well channeled at Lucent, and the spirit of Lucent and the staff. I didn’t understand yoga as a way of life, but I do now. I’m full of inspiration to live that way - I’m healthier than I’ve ever been! I learned more about my body than I ever have with lectures on anatomy, working with injuries, and Ayurvedic medicine that have stuck with me since. Spiritually, I felt so held and so safe in the arms of the Lucent staff - safe to explore the edges of my practice with a little less fear and little more freedom. It’s a humbling process to learn, and I was encouraged to be wherever I was in my learning each day. I got more than my money is worth - I wish i could do it all over again. Oh, and i can do headstands now!” -Lizzie, Class of 2022
“I want to shout from the rooftops that the Lucent Yoga Teacher Training is a gift and if you're able to do it, you absolutely should. It is clear that so much thought and care goes into every hour of the training. The modules allow you to move deeper into your own practice while learning how to eventually pass knowledge along to your own classes. Both the spiritual discussions and the physical asana practice allow you to understand how you want to teach and what really motivated you to take the training. It also doesn't hurt that you create a strong, loving bond with the rest of the group and teachers. I will hold this experience so close to my heart for the rest of my life and can't wait for the newness that will come because of this.” -Gabi, Class of 2020
“Being part of the Lucent 200-hr Teacher Training far exceeded my expectations and broadened my knowledge and experience as a yoga student beyond what I thought possible. Lauren’s thoughtful, expansive training is designed to expose students to subtle and specific topics relating to Bhakti Yoga. I took part of the training while having a full-time job. The organization of the program allowed me to fully give myself over to the workshops, events and retreat. The Lucent 200-hr Teacher Training enriched my knowledge of yoga and has rippled out into many other parts of my life in a positive way. I am left feeling grateful, enthusiastic about this education and curious to look into additional trainings with Lucent for the future. I would wholeheartedly apply and complete the training again and recommend it to anyone who is looking to deepen their own practice or those looking to teach in the yoga community.” -Antoinette, Class of 2020
“I had been considering a training for a while and was relieved when I learned Lucent was offering a YTT program. It checked off everything I was looking for: it was taught by experienced teachers I trusted and felt safe with, the schedule worked with my full-time job, it was comprehensive, and the cost was accessible. Going into it, I was concerned with wanting to teach immediately after the training, have fantastic alignment, and give great assists. Instead, the training was a place where I became less irritated, learned how to listen with less judgement and hold space for my friends, family, and people to be themselves. I developed my own voice and became comfortable asking questions in front of a group of people. I also learned I had new interests, like the anatomy of the spine. I'm not claiming that I'm a better person, but over the weeks, spending time with my class and teachers opened up myself in ways I had not anticipated and brought about my own unique appreciation for yoga, in all its forms. It was definitely challenging and a commitment to discipline and it is one of the best decisions I ever made for myself.” -Lindsey, Class of 2019
